Do The Right Thing

There’s a young boy having an asthma attack; what do you do? There’s an elderly man getting mugged; what do you do? There’s a close friend getting cheated on; what do you do? You do the right thing. Stand out of the ordinary and into the extraordinary, by leading through action. Do not wait or hesitate, but rather rise to the moment to prove that Americans still are and always will be leaders.

There has been a lot deception and wrong doing recently. Whether it’s Blagojevich “auctioning” the senate seat, Madoff scamming investors in his ponzi scheme, or ACORN’s misuse of America’s tax-dollars, we, as a country, need to straighten out. The days of waste and misconduct must end with us. We do need an era of responsibility, where we can trust one another and stand by one another. We must look out for our family and the next generations to come. Don’t buy a house you know you cannot afford, and don’t later beg the government for help. People must primarily, keep themselves financially sound, and then secondly help others stay afloat.

While doing so, we must remember to uphold high standards of morales and ethics. Make sure what you are doing benefits your country, your community, and yourself. When going abroad, make sure to represent the good-hearted America we know, when visiting a neighboring county, represent your loving hometown you grew up in, and whenever about, be sure to represent your family and yourself. Always leave a good impression on folks by doing the right thing all the time.

  1. This is a good piece of writing on the way that Americans should live. It is nice to know that people care about our country. You can never go wrong by doing the right thing even if it may be the harder choice to make. This is very patriotic and is the right way for Americans to live.

  2. I like the Idea behind your story, but i feel like there really is no backing to your thoughts. Although Madoff's ponzi scheme is a good example, you could use some more detail or past events that have resulted negatively because of "wrong doings".

  4. I really like your theme. Your message is a good one of value and truth. I did not think you had enough examples to support your thesis. You should add more examples and references to current events. Your paper also did not flow very well. I liked what you were saying, but not how you said it. I did not see any grammatical or conventional mistakes.

  5. I like your blog this week. I agree that the days of horrible waste and misconduct should end with us. We need to start to make the smarter choices. An analogy is getting Terrewl Owens or getting Brian Dawkins. T.O. is great for a little but you pay for it in the end. Dawkins will help you in the long run. We need to begin to move into the right direction. Your focus was very good. I would expand a little more on some points. Choices are very important and you should now think about some word choice.

  6. Doing the right thing is easier said than done. Sometimes it's a little too difficult to pay your mortgage or your bills. Honestly, why should I support the military? What do they do for me? Also, I love mugging elderly men. Besides, if I save the guy, he could sue me?

Your point about not asking the government for help is ludicrous. The government is there to HELP. Greedy rich people give the government money so they can take care of ME. The government is responsible for me, let them help the poor and pay my mortgage.

  7. Your theme is really good. I agree with the fact that we should always do the right thing, as Americans. You should add more specific examples in your second paragraph, and explain them better. Some of the examples I didn’t understand very well, so make sure you are very clear. You could use a little more organization. Make the beginning, middle, and end more clear to readers. I did not see any errors in conventions. Good work.
